At Our Social Dividend, we think that charities and Not For Profits (NFP's) play an important role in society. However, we are also aware that the governance and management of these entities is hard, arguably harder than in commercial entities.
We believe that there are structural and practical reasons for this (article link here). If boards and management are not aware of the potential problems, and don't take specific steps to address them, then their organisations risk underperforming, leaving society shortchanged.
